People agree on a favourite vision that can be described as a Global, Peaceful, Just and Sustainable Civilisation. This includes an ecologically intact environment. It includes "freedom from want, freedom from fear and freedom to live a life in dignity" - UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in the Larger Freedom Report. Which means a change in our economy, society and politics, in our priorities - towards a better well-being for all.
Human beings have changed and adopted many times throughout history. Now, we have the chance and need to design a new, holistic model in global cooperation.
This requires our individual and collective responsibility, membership and active participation in this global civilisation. It demands that we lead a sound, responsible lifestyle, make earth-literate decisions as consumers, parents, political and economical decision-makers.
Here, we collect essential parts of the mindset and the identity of a human being contributing to a peaceful, just, enjoyable and sustainable future.
Not specialists but every citizen needs to evolve a basic mindset, understanding and competence in all these aspects. Only this way, citizens can comprehend the implications of their individual lifestyle, decision-making and vote. Only this way, they will share the priorities and understand the decisions of earth-literate leaders.
